Malacoda is Mezzavia's interpretation of Belgian strong ales: a fruity and full-bodied craft beer, it presents intense aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit to the nose, with pear, peach in syrup, banana and white grapes in evidence; a full and rounded beer, it hides its 7.5% alcohol content behind its freshness and light spicy notes. The finish is characterized by an elegant bitterness and a dryness that is not excessive, making it a dangerously drinkable beer. Its name (Malacoda is a devil from Dante's comedy) is intended to reconnect with the Belgian tradition of this style, in which strong ales were baptized with diabolical and demonic names to underline their high alcohol content combined with their dangerous ease of drinking.
