In Sardinian, the term "donosa" is used to describe a person, usually a woman, who is graceful or beautiful . It is an adjective that refers to someone with a particularly pleasant and elegant physical appearance or manners as well as qualities such as tenacity and emotional strength, like the Sardinian woman. This term is especially widespread in the Campidanese dialect, one of the variants of the Sardinian language spoken in the south of the island.
The word derives from "dono," which in Italian translates as "gift" or "present," reinforcing the idea of natural beauty or grace as an innate and shared gift.
